June Pictures 2020

Architectural conservator James Boorstein captures a moment in Manhattan as the focus in New York shifted from COVID-19 to George Floyd.
“The June Pictures” offers an intimate view during an unprecedented time as social unrest arose from a sequestered and fearful population. The viewer experiences the city through informal iPhone compositions dictated by the city’s atmosphere and architecture.
Storefronts, plywood, graffiti, and people inhabit these pictures, allowing the city to tell its own story. Here are the June Pictures 2020.
