Hello people,

This coming Sunday, May 31st, Covid Entry #26 which was written on Easter (more of a prayer than most) will be sent. That was back when I started noticing the extent of boarded-up storefronts, especially in Soho. The shuttering has continued and expanded geographically. The protection now includes interior covering with paper, cardboard, cloth, plywood, and plastic bags. I still have not heard one person mention this in the news or in person.

On Thursday, May 7th, the final Covid Entry #52, was written. Based on the current every-other-day schedule, that entry would arrive in your inbox on Bastille Day. But such predictability does not fit these times. And, I would be surprised if anyone objected to a decrease in email, so allow me to announce some changes.

After #26 on Sunday we will take a ‘spring break,’ an intermission.

When the second half begins, the interval between entries will increase to four days. The entries will pause from mid-August to mid-September for Box 3’s annual Delayering mailing, including our first paper mailing of this century. After that, who knows? It’s certain that by the time the Fifty-Second Covid Entry reaches you, more will have changed in New York City, America, and the world.
